It is recommended that an individual participate in 150 minutes a week of moderate intensity activity, along with 75 minutes a week of vigorous intensity activity. Examples of moderate exercise can be walking at a fast pace as well as swimming, while running and cycling can be considered vigorous activity. To gain even more benefits an individual could participate in 300 minutes of moderate exercise and 150 minutes of vigorous activity a week.
